March 1-19 students had the tremendous opportunity to learn, first hand, the powerful feeling that comes from doing something to help others. We participated in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's School & Youth Programs, Pennies for Patients. This cause has special relevance for children and their families as leukemia causes more than any other cancer among children under the age of 20.

Students brought in spare change that they found at home, donations from parents, family members and neighbors, and even money saved in their own piggy banks. Last year, we were awarded the honor of being the Top Fundraising School in Alabama. We raised $5, 171.00! This year we raised $6,021.46!!!! We are the Top Fundraising School in Alabama again this year! Two years in a row!

It is so exciting to work with students who have a heart for helping others!
